Delas
'Les Bessards' Hermitage 2012
Les Bessards is Delas Frères’ most concentrated expression of Hermitage, made entirely from Syrah grown on the granite and alluvial soils of this celebrated lieu-dit. Produced only in selected years and in small quantities, it is a serious Northern Rhône wine built for development.

Tasting Notes
The 2012 combines blackcurrant and black raspberry with violet, smoked meat, spice and a distinctive powdered-stone character. Dense tannins and substantial depth are balanced by freshness, creating a wine that remains powerful without becoming heavy.
About Delas
Steeped in over 160 years of heritage and elevated by the visionary stewardship of Champagne Louis Roederer, this historic Rhône powerhouse marries ancestral wisdom with a relentless pursuit of perfection. Seamlessly bridging the northern and southern sectors of the valley, winemaker Jacques Grange coaxes breathtaking terroir precision from steep, vertigo-inducing granite slopes. The resulting allocations—spanning critically acclaimed Hermitage, Côte-Rôtie, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape—deliver monumental depth, intense mineral drive, and a chiseled, majestic elegance that positions them among the globe's finest and most texturally brilliant values.
About Northern Rhône
The Northern Rhône is a narrow strip of steep slopes where Syrah takes centre stage in its most focused and famous form. Regions such as Côte Rôtie, Hermitage and Saint-Joseph deliver complex, age-worthy reds with firm structure shaped by the cooler climate and granitic soils, with Crozes-Hermitage often offering more value and approachability. Viognier plays a key role too in producing expressive whites in Condrieu and sometimes adds lift to Syrah in co-fermented blends. Marsanne and Roussanne round out the white offering in areas like Hermitage. The Northern Rhône is a place of precision and purity with styles that are structured, confident, clearly defined and sought-after.
