Tasting Notes

Wild strawberry, dark cherry and subtle forest floor notes define this expressive Pinot Noir. Silky and beautifully balanced, it delivers vibrant fruit and gentle savoury complexity in equal measure.

About Greywacke

After directing the first 25 vintages as the founding winemaker of Cloudy Bay, Marlborough pioneer Kevin Judd launched Greywacke in 2009 alongside his family to champion the region's ancient, river-stone terroirs. Relying on spontaneous wild-yeast fermentations and an intentionally hands-on, minimal-intervention philosophy, they craft strikingly textural, high-intensity Sauvignon Blancs and Pinot Noirs that vibrate with a savory complexity and a brilliantly crisp South Pacific energy.

About Marlborough

Marlborough is New Zealand’s best-known wine region and the global benchmark for Sauvignon Blanc. The cool climate, long sunshine hours and free-draining soils create intensely aromatic wines with signature Marlborough freshness. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay also perform well, offering clean, sometimes complex fruit fruit-driven styles with subtle structure. Many vineyards stretch across the Wairau and Awatere Valleys, each adding small differences in flavour and texture. Winemaking here is modern and precise, with a focus on capturing bright, clean fruit above all else. Marlborough remains a reliable source of vibrant, crisp wines that are instantly recognisable.
