2023SwartlandSouth Africa13.5%

Granite comes from dry-farmed Chenin bush vines planted in 1976 on the Paardeberg. It is Mullineux’s highest-altitude single-terroir white, designed to isolate what decomposed granite contributes when the grape and cellar work stay constant.

Tasting Notes

Lime zest, green pear and a distinctive flinty minerality give this Chenin Blanc its unmistakable character. There’s an incredible sense of purity here, with bright fruit and stony freshness working in harmony to create a wine that feels energetic, focused and endlessly refreshing.

About Mullineux

Settling among the ancient granite and schist terroirs of the Swartland, winemaking power-duo Chris and Andrea Mullineux have skyrocketed to become one of South Africa’s most decorated icons. With an unprecedented five Platter’s Winery of the Year awards under their belt, they lean on old vines and sustainable farming to craft mesmerisingly vibrant bottles that balance effortless finesse with deep regional character.

About Swartland

Swartland sits north of Cape Town and has become one of South Africa’s most dynamic and closely watched regions. Old bush vines, varied soils and a warm dry climate form the backbone of its identity, with producers placing real emphasis on sustainable farming and minimal intervention. Chenin Blanc is a key white variety, often showing impressive depth and ageworthiness, while red blends built around Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault offer structure without heaviness. The region is known for its independence and experimentation, with many small producers championing site expression over overt winemaking. Swartland stands out for its clarity, authenticity and consistently confident wines.
