Tasting Notes

Wild red cherry, dried rose and subtle savoury notes define this beautifully expressive Barolo. Fragrant and complex, it balances Nebbiolo’s signature structure with remarkable purity, delivering layers of flavour that unfold gracefully with every sip.

About Ghëddo

Founded in 2014 by childhood friends with zero family wine ties, this micro-boutique project has quickly become one of the most exciting, intrepid rising stars of the Langhe. Taking their name from the Piedmontese word for enthusiastic initiative, Giovanni Pippia and Mattia Benedetti practice organic, minimal-intervention viticulture across a minuscule three hectares of vines. utilising a centuries-old cellar in Monforte d’Alba, they craft high-energy Dolcetto, a thrilling white co-ferment, and crystalline Nebbiolos that seamlessly marry traditional, ancestral structures with a brilliantly fresh, vibrant, and natural stamina.

About Piedmont

Piedmont sits in the northwest of Italy and is known for producing some of the country’s most distinctive and characterful wines. Nebbiolo is the headline act here, forming the backbone of Barolo and Barbaresco wines with firm structure and bright acidity. Barbera and Dolcetto add more easy-going everyday (and great value) options, while the region also produces crisp whites from Arneis and Nascetta, as well as the lightly sparkling, sweet Moscato d’Asti. Winemaking in Piedmont leans on tradition with a focus on expressing each vineyard site clearly. The result is a region defined by clarity, structure, and a strong sense of place in every style.
