Tasting note
🦉 Wine just hits differently out of magnum. Expect red fruit, dried herbs and subtle spice running through a velvety, mature structure. The tannins have softened into a smooth frame and this 2010 still provides lift and lovely freshness. Deep, savoury and calmly powerful with steady length.

About the producer
Argiano is one of Montalcino’s most recognisable estates, centred around a striking sixteenth-century villa and a long history of championing Sangiovese. The modern era has been shaped by a renewed focus on vineyard health and a fresher, more balanced style under the guidance of Bernardino Sani and a talented young team.
Farming is organic, and the estate’s mix of elevations and exposures gives them plenty of nuance to play with, from their classic Brunello to the lively ‘Non Confunditur’ cuvée.
Argiano manages that rare balance of heritage and forward thinking, producing wines that feel confident, refined and very Montalcino.
Italy
Italy’s winemaking roots run through the ancient Etruscans and Romans, who spread viticulture across the peninsula. Today, it blends deep tradition with forward-thinking producers who champion native grapes and terroir-driven styles.
The country is a patchwork of regions, grapes and traditions, producing everything from alpine whites in the north to sun-soaked reds in the south. Its appellation system is built around DOC and DOCG, which help signpost quality and origin across a landscape that can shift dramatically from one area to the next. Key grapes such as Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, and Barbera sit alongside countless local varieties that shape each region's identity. Whether it is the structure of Chianti Classico and Piedmont, or the bright coastal styles of Sicily, Italian wine is ultimately about diversity and a strong sense of place.
Tuscany
Tuscany is where Italy’s rolling hills meet Sangiovese, the grape that powers everything from bright cherry-toned Chianti to the deeper, more serious wines of Brunello. The region is a patchwork of historic villages and sun-soaked vineyards, producing reds that balance freshness with a warming Mediterranean richness. Winemakers here mix age-old tradition with a modern touch, giving life to everything from classic Tuscan blends to bold SuperTuscan styles(that use international grapes). With its mix of elegance, power, and unmistakable Italian charm, Tuscany is timeless, romantic and easy to fall in love with.
