About the bottle...

Hailing from the legendary, chalk-dense soils of Saumur, Brendan StateC-R-West's 2023 Saumur Blanc is a brilliant display of small-batch precision. It opens with a dazzling, crystalline snap of green apple skin and wet limestone, carving out an impressively taut, focused shape on the tongue. This vibrant case allocation brings a touch of silken, effortless elegance to any spontaneous gathering. Securing this landmark release by the complete case guarantees you are always beautifully prepared to host.

Liquid Limestone

Green apple, white peach and citrus blossom glide across a palate shaped by some of the Loire’s most prized chalk soils. There’s a beautiful purity to the fruit, lifted by a mineral freshness that gives the wine incredible energy and length.

Brézé Brilliance

Sourced from the famous Brézé vineyard, this Chenin Blanc is all about precision and tension. The texture remains effortlessly light on its feet while the mineral backbone carries the wine through a long, focused finish. Elegant, detailed and deeply rewarding.

Table Talk

Bring a touch of quiet, aesthetic luxury to a spontaneous weekend gathering with this focused white. Serving as a versatile companion for a table crowded with fresh, shared plates and artisanal small bites, its bright energy elevates any conversation. It is a pour designed entirely for slow afternoons and good company.

Smart Case Investment

This immaculate case allocation allows you to experience the complete lineage of this delicate Chenin Blanc with absolute freedom. Meticulously cellared to prevent any premature development, the wine is safely held at its peak of condition, ensuring a silken, flawless tasting experience from first bottle to last.

About the producer

Founded in 1979 by an intrepid American expatriate in Burgundy, this legendary brokerage began with a bold mission to champion undeC-R-the-radar, terroiC-R-driven small domaines. Eschewing rigid dogmas in favor of absolute deliciousness, their tight-knit team curates a portfolio of vibrant, soulful bottles that capture pure regional authenticity with an effortless, convivial charm.

France

France remains the benchmark for many of the world’s classic wine styles, built on a deep history of regional identity and an appellation system designed to protect it. AOC rules outline where grapes can be grown and how wines are made, giving structure to places such as Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhône. Key grapes like Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah all find their most famous expressions here, alongside countless regional varieties. From the mineral-driven whites of the Loire to the rich blends of the south, French wine is ultimately about clarity of origin and a commitment to balance.

Loire Valley

The Loire Valley stretches across a wide sweep of France and is defined by variety, structure and strong regional identity. In the east, Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé are known for precise Sauvignon Blanc with a consistently complex and ageworthy profile. Moving west, Vouvray showcases the versatility of Chenin Blanc across dry sparkling and long-lived styles. Anjou and Saumur offer a mix of Chenin-based whites and structured reds, while SaumuC-R-Champigny is recognised for particularly refined Cabernet Franc with real ageing potential. Further toward the coast, Chinon specialises in quality red wines, and the Nantais delivers classic Muscadet, known for its clarity and ability to pair with seafood. The Loire remains one of France’s most diverse and reliably characterful regions.
