About the producer

What began in 2001 as an overlooked sheep and canola farm has been transformed by entrepreneur Bernhard Heyns into one of the Bot River’s most acclaimed, generation-led wine sanctuaries. Guided by visionary cellar master PeteB-R-Allan Finlayson, they champion local biodiversity to craft strikingly pure, site-specific allocations that crackle with intense coastal energy and an effortlessly cool, avant-garde complexity.

South Africa

South African wine history began in the seventeenth century with Dutch settlers and later Huguenot influence. The Constantia estate once produced some of the world’s most prized sweet wines. After decades of isolation, the new era opened global markets and sparked a new wave of quality-focused producers. South Africa’s wine scene blends old world influence with new world energy, shaped by dramatic coastlines, mountain ranges and a warm Mediterranean climate. Its classification system is centred on the Wine of Origin scheme, which highlights geographic provenance across regions, districts and wards. This is a treasure-trove of grape varieties; Chenin Blanc is the country’s signature, delivering everything from fresh orchard-driven styles to richer, more textured expressions. Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Grenache and Pinotage define many of the reds, while Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc thrive in cooler coastal areas. From Stellenbosch to Swartland and Cape South Coast, South Africa champions diversity, sustainability and a confident sense of regional identity.

Swartland

Swartland sits north of Cape Town and has become one of South Africa’s most dynamic and closely watched regions. Old bush vines, varied soils and a warm, dry climate form the backbone of its identity, with producers placing real emphasis on sustainable farming and minimal intervention. Chenin Blanc is a key white variety, often showing impressive depth and ageworthiness, while red blends built around Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault offer structure without heaviness. The region is known for its independence and experimentation, with many small producers championing site expression over overt winemaking. Swartland stands out for its clarity, authenticity and consistently confident wines.

Fresh from the Cape

Green orchard fruit, melon and a gentle hint of spice make this an irresistibly vibrant Chenin Blanc. The fruit feels bright and expressive, lifted by a freshness that keeps the wine lively, pure and wonderfully drinkable.

Coastal Elegance

Produced from vineyards influenced by cooling ocean breezes, this South African Chenin Blanc balances generous fruit with impressive precision. The result is a wine that feels modern, energetic and beautifully composed from start to finish.

Ocean Tables

This energetic white serves as a fantastic companion for shared plates of pan-seared fish, dynamic herb salads, or fresh crab cakes. its bright coastal acidity brings a refined, uplifting element to any table setting, perfect for winding down with good company.

Fresh Release

This curated vintage allows you to enjoy the full prestige of premium boutique allocations around a relaxed table. Properly cellared and protected from light and temperature fluctuations, the liquid uncoils beautifully in the glass. You get to experience a crystalline, flawless expression of boutique craftsmanship preserved at its absolute peak.
