Taste, texture & character

What’s in the glass?

Dark berries, woodland aromas and fragrant spice draw you in before a fresh, finely structured palate takes over. There is real concentration here, carried by lively acidity and a savoury thread rather than sweetness. The tannins give the fruit shape without overwhelming it, and the finish keeps unfolding. A thoughtful Pinot to give time in the glass.

The people behind the pour

By Farr

RP takes its name from Robyn Pamela Farr and comes from the family's Côte Vineyard, also the source of their GC Chardonnay. The closely planted site gives the team a particularly detailed expression of Pinot Noir. For the 2019, the fruit fermented with natural yeasts and a substantial proportion of whole bunches, before ageing in French oak. Nick Farr describes this vintage through its freshness and savoury depth. It is a wine built through careful vineyard work and selection, with texture and complexity carrying as much weight as the fruit.

A sense of place

Geelong, Australia

Explore wines from Australia
Geelong

Geelong sits in Victoria, where cool conditions allow Pinot Noir a long ripening season. Much of the region feels the moderating influence of Port Phillip Bay or Bass Strait, while inland vineyards have their own distinct conditions. Rainfall is relatively low and wind is a regular presence. These contrasts help explain why Geelong Pinot is so varied: perfume, savoury detail and fresh structure can sit alongside surprisingly concentrated fruit.

Australia

Australia's Pinot Noir story belongs to its cooler corners. Coastal breezes, elevation and thoughtful site selection create styles that range from bright and fragrant to savoury and structured. Geelong is a rewarding place to explore that range.
