Tasting note

Citrus, green apple and white blossom notes sit over a clean, mineral-driven frame. Acidity is bright and precise, giving a long, linear shape, while the texture remains sleek and controlled. Fresh, focused and quietly expressive, with a crisp, lifted finish.

About the producer

Château de Schengen is a small, quality-driven estate in Luxembourg’s Moselle Valley, working mainly with Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Auxerrois from steep, river-facing slopes. The vineyards benefit from a cool climate and limestone-rich soils, which help preserve freshness and bring a fine mineral edge to the wines. The approach is focused and precise, with careful vineyard work and clean, controlled fermentations to highlight varietal character. The wines are bright, balanced and quietly detailed, offering a clear expression of Luxembourg’s understated but increasingly impressive wine scene.

Luxembourg

Luxembourg’s wine history is closely tied to the Moselle River, where viticulture dates back to Roman times. Monasteries preserved and refined vineyard sites through the Middle Ages, establishing a strong regional identity. In the twentieth century the country formalised its quality system, and today it is known for precise, mineral driven white wines.

Moselle

The Moselle in Luxembourg runs along the country’s eastern border and is known for clean precise wines shaped by a cool climate and limestone rich soils. While Riesling plays an important role, the region is particularly recognised for varieties such as Rivaner, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Auxerrois which produce structured and reliable styles with good ageing potential. Luxembourg is also a key source of traditional method sparkling wines under the Crémant de Luxembourg designation, with a strong focus on consistency and technical quality. The region combines long established vineyard sites with modern winemaking, delivering clear well defined wines with a strong sense of identity.
