Small pours. Big discoveries.

The White Burgundy Edit

Four reasons to make room for white Burgundy. Begin with Sylvain Bzikot’s Bourgogne Blanc and Grachet Duchemin’s Saint-Aubin, then explore two interpretations of Vaudésir, one of Chablis’ Grand Cru vineyards. Samuel Billaud’s 2023 meets Lavantureux’s 2018, bringing different producers and vintages into the same tasting. Four 100ml pours for following your curiosity, comparing favourites and choosing your next bottle with confidence.

Sylvain Bzikot

Bourgogne Blanc 2022

Burgundy, France
Chardonnay

Green apple, lemon peel and delicate white flowers define this beautifully judged Bourgogne Blanc. Pure fruit and lively acidity work together seamlessly,...

More about this wine

Sourced from vineyards just outside Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault, Bzikot’s Bourgogne Blanc carries unusually smart postcodes for its classification. It is the entry point to a 15-hectare family domaine that once sold most of its fruit in bulk.

Grachet Duchemin

'En Vermarain' St Aubin 2024

'Vaudesir' Chablis Grand Cru 20181 × 100ml

Domaine Lavantureux

More about this wine

Vaudésir sits among Chablis’ seven grands crus, where Chardonnay grows on Kimmeridgian clay and limestone. Domaine Roland Lavantureux uses a combination of older barrels and a small proportion of new oak, adding texture while preserving the vineyard’s mineral identity.

'Vaudésir' Chablis Grand Cru 20231 × 100ml

Domaine Samuel Billaud

'Vaudésir' Chablis Grand Cru 2023

The 2023 combines ripe lemon, lime and fine apple with yellow fruit, floral perfume and crushed-stone minerality. It is layered and concentrated,...

More about this wine

Samuel Billaud is known for precise, mineral-driven Chablis, and Vaudésir gives that approach the scale of a grand cru. The vineyard’s exposure brings natural ripeness, while its limestone soils provide the tension and definition that keep the wine composed.

The White Burgundy Edit

Chosen by Harry

Follow Chardonnay across Burgundy.

Bzikot’s Bourgogne Blanc and Grachet Duchemin’s Saint-Aubin set up a tasting that finishes with two versions of Chablis’ Vaudésir Grand Cru. Lavantureux’s 2018 and Samuel Billaud’s 2023 invite a closer comparison. Producer and vintage both differ, so look for shared character as well as the details that set them apart.
